A Remarkable Family

Every family has a lot of unique and special things to be proud of.  But, today I honor my cousin, Sally and her wonderful family.  She and her husband, Brad, have given close to two decades to the Southern Baptist  International Missions and have lived in Niamey Niger Republic in Africa, working with the Songhai people while raising their 4 children, Brady, Mary Beth, Ruth and Emily.  I am amazed at their life and the sacrifices they have made.  Uncle Bob and Aunt Phyllis, you have raised two special daughters and I know you are very proud of them and the difference they have made in the lives of others.  It was so good to see you at Aunt Geraldine's.  God's blessings to you as you enjoy this time with All of your family being  together and our prayers are with you for God healing in your life.  Thank you, Aunt Geraldine for a wonderful meal.  I still have your spoon.

Charity begins at HOME

We might have made the record for the oldest children ever to have moved back home with their Mom.  I guess Mom couldn't resist that pitiful site.            Pray her charity will hold up for 2 months.

Bitter Sweet Day

The last day or two of our move from Racquet Club, brought tears, laughter and some nostalgic dress up with wedding dress, and old cheerleading outfits.  It brought our good neighbors over to say good by and promises of  not to forget each other and  thank you for all you have meant to us.  The day brought, Rob and Abby , in there on way, to say good by to the house they grew up in .  There were strong men with strong backs,  moving 31 years of life's stuff onto the truck, and  Abby and Amy, diligently wrapping Papa.s doll house and Rob making sure the  Star Wars, of long ago, got out of the attic, and most definitely, his monkey and blanket taken to a safe place.   Chad was not able to help, but things were set aside for him and Lisa, and many memories of that freckled face boy was found.   Then, an almost empty house called me back late at night to sleep one more night and  try to keep what was left of the home fires burning until new owners  made their own.   Another passage in my life has ended and when Louis and I revive ourselves, after such a move, we will take the good of the past with us and as my precious neighbor, Ruth, said , "let the past broaden our horizons for the future".  Then she waved good by and said, " By Scarlett---Straight ahead! "

A TEACHER IN THE MAKING

These pictures mean the world  to me .    I have envisioned this in Abby's life since she had her own classroom, complete with chalk board , dolls for students and even an extra teacher, her wonderful friend. Meredith.    Now, she is on the last road in her goal.  She will have her very own class in Fall on 2009.   Abby, we are so proud of your perseverance, and reaching it and still working in a full time job .  Your children will LOVE you and like you did, will be able to mimic your every move.  What a fitting lesson plan--Brothers and Sisters!

32 birthdays celebrated in same office

Another birthday with cohorts--Looks like they would get tired of this after all these years.  Ann brought balloons, sandwiches, and a great german chocolate cake.  Sandra made a beautiful bouquet from her yard.  These pictures are of the other Hygienist in my office.  I have to say , we are a preety good team.
