Our last full day with Gaege was victorious! Finally, feeling better, we headed to town to pick out carpet for Nana and stop at soda shop to pick her up some lunch. Dad got here early Saturday morning for breakfast and our forgettable spring break was over. I sure miss that little boy.
We are finally getting our driveway. First day was cutting out the circle drive in front and grating the drive to garage pad. Then crushed stone was placed. Crew is coming back Monday to put the asphalt and pea gravel on the drive. Gaege had a playmate while all this construction was going on. The grandfather brought his grandson, Jim.
5 days into Gaege's spring break finally brings hope that the next 5 days will be better. Gaege has been very brave, but has been fighting a fever for 3 days. After the fever finally broke, from out of no where came a terrible ear ache. Now on antibiotics, he is back to his old self and appetite has come back. Kyle came over to cheer him up and went to work making cookies, spaghetti sauce, and showed much talent in culinary arts. A few games of UNO, taking Nana to supper has pretty much been the high lights of the first part of Spring break. Surly it will get better.
We headed out early Friday morning to go to Lakeland Elementary to talk to Ms JWright's 3rd grade class about their teeth. We found Gaege to have a great teacher and friends. The only problem was Gaege was sick and couldn't be at school. We got to see his self portrait and his picture with the lion, the school mascot. The kids were great listeners and ask great questions. Afterwards we had a wonderful supper that Chad cooked on the grill and brought Gaege home with us for his spring break. Hasn't been much fun yet. He has a temperature and cough since he got to Springland. We hope today will be turning point back to good health.
Tomorrow, Aubrey is going into the hospital for open heart surgery, either Thursday or Friday. We want you to know, Aubrey, that you mean a lot to this family and we will appreciate your speedy recovery!!!!!!! Can't do without you very long. Our prayers, love and thoughts will be with you as you go through the recovery process and get back to feeling better than ever. We might get a chance to spoil you and help you like you have always helped each of us. May God give you unexplained peace through this time and a successful and complete recovery.
Sunday morning, Louis and I woke up to a 4 inch snow fall. What a wonderful sight to see snow surrounding Springland instead of mud that is left with winter building. Dr. Knoell and Jackson came by to check out the packing boxes. We have watch this little boy from birth and after having a slow start, he is now Mr. Personality and full of imagination and energy.
