Sisters and Brothers

My Mom is amazing.  The tree is trimmed , 80 presents wrapped and waiting and still up for early morning parties, noon time parties and of course her sibling's annual get together.  Very much missing Edsel and Margie, the Floyd siblings are again blessed to have another Christmas together.  Aunt Dot and Mom have a beautiful bond of over 80 years of support and love for each other.  May God grant many more years of the circle being unbroken.

Memphis Visit

36 years ago, Chad was born in Memphis. He started his spiritual growth at Bellevue Baptist Church.  Now , Chad and family live in Memphis  and go to the same church.  We all attended the Singing Christmas and Louis and I were pampered with an overnight stay at their new home.  Lisa has made it beautiful. They both are such a team at making you feel welcome.  Of course, having my grandboys around top off the week end.

Dad's Memory

Looking at Dad's life today, I still and will always have such precious memories to cherish and enjoy.  So very often, Dad comes to my mind and the influences and mark he left on my life makes me feel very close to him. I love what Dad did with his dash.  He's life was such a blessing in how he lived it and shared it.  Three years ago, today, was the GRAND finale for Dad, here on earth, but only the beginning of heaven. He lived and died with such dignity and grace.  I am so proud to be his daughter.

What a day!

It all started with the bright idea that we could kill two birds with one stone.  We could have Thanksgiving and get Mom's house decorated for Christmas in same day.  We all pitched in and what a team we were.  We even got the yard raked, too.     The highlight of the day was Matt introducing his brother to us.  They met each other for the first time two months ago. Welcome to the family, Chris.  Thanks to all for a great day.

Thankful

Louis and I count our blessings as we share 50 years of Thanksgivng at Mom and Dad's home.  Woke up to smells of  a special dinner  on the stove and  once again we thank God for family and His blessings on this home over the last half a century.

Happenings

This blog is a little taste of all the going on's in our world.  The three A's-- Abby, Anna, and Amy spent a night at the new Convention center, in Murfreesboro, to attend a Women's Retreat that our church sponsored.  I missed staying in their beautiful room, but got to join them for most of the sessions.  We all were blessed for going.   Louis,  had a business meeting with his staff  and got funny looks when he called the meeting to order.  Rob, came to visit, but got inducted
into the work force and  unloaded fire wood with Louis.  He will think twice before coming next time!!  Caught Mom doing what she loves, making flower arrangements.  I think she missed her calling.   Kenneth and Steve came to the Memory House for our first dinner party.  Thanks to Steve for bringing us heaters to keep us warm. This was a perfect atmosphere for The Uncle to share some of his knowledge and wisdom into our past.  All in all, we are trying to be normal in the chaos of building.  Praying we can have some similis of Christmas at Springland. We will try to focus on the "Reason for the Season", and not the disarray of the circumstances around us.

Home Stretch

We thought surely before Thanksgiving we would move in and now we are praying to get in before Christmas. Mom, is great, but we will definitely smell like fish if we are still here on that special day in December at 600 North Church. Check out the first big party with our new Mexican friends. It is beginning to feel like home and Louis and I both are so very anxious for this adventure to be over. Christmas will be different with boxes all around, but I am looking so forward to all my children coming to celebrate our first Christmas at Springland, but more than that the birth of our Savior.

First night in Memory House

Louis and I took time to set up the cabin with available furniture and a hand crafted bed, designed and built by LYG just for the occasion, and we spend our first night in the newly finished cabin. We kept a fire going all night and tried to stay warm. It was an adventure, but we will bring long handles next time. Don't call yet for reservations until we talk to Steve. He has two heaters that might solve the problem.

Missing grandboys!

Some days you just have a longing to see your grandchildren. Gaege and Kyle are growing so fast and I am afraid their childhood is going to be gone and Louis and I haven't had enough time spent with them. Kyle is busy with sports, school and travels every two weeks. Gaege is into TV, video games, and has just joined the cub scouts. Fingers crossed that we will see them Saturday. Kyle, has made a very important decision to be baptized. We are hoping everyone can be here for that service Saturday night at New Vision Baptist Church.
